GO AMERICAN ENGLISH! PROGRAM

Through a micro-scholarship program in collaboration with the US Embassy in Spain, Go American English! offers training in English to students of 2nd of ESO (Spanish Secondary Education) that are willing to improve their communication skills in this language.

The scholarships cover up to 100% of the costs, including the program itself and the school materials. It also offers the option to apply for a partial transport scholarship.

These scholarships are designed to help students with good academic results and a household income below average in Madrid.

The objective of this program is to foster a comprehensive training for students and to improve their computer abilities. It will encourage moral values such as leadership, entrepreneurship, voluntary service and critical thinking, as well as teamwork, open mind and appreciation for diversity. Complementary activities, such as sports and entrepreneurial workshops, lectures by guest experts or voluntary community work and human rights lectures will also be held.

The classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:30 to 19:00. The program will last for two years: first course will start on the second week of September 2017 and will finish on June 2018; whereas the second course will be taught between September 2018 and June 2019.

Application submission period: from the 1st to the 22nd of June, 2017.

Access Program

The Access Program is an English-language program for students in danger of social exclusion from the Community of Madrid (Spanish Autonomous Community of Madrid), who are between the ages of 13 and 17.

This educational program also explores the values and culture of the US. The Access Program strengthens leadership and personal development in the students through social community service, games and other activities.

The Access Program was designed by the US Embassy in Spain.

Ambassador James Costos inaugurated the program during a ceremony with student participants in attendance on December 2nd, 2015. The granted scholarships have a duration of two years.  It has been in operation since October 2015 and the first promotion will graduate in June 2017.

The course, the books, other school materials, transportation costs, as well as additional activities and intensive sessions are all covered by funds specifically designated for this program.
